In April 2010 ANIA LICHOTA (www.ania-lichota.info, AniaEverest2010@hotmail.com), who was born in Poland, now living in London, will commence her Mt. Everest challenge - the 7th Summit of her journey. She has already successfully climbed the six highest peaks on six continents; Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mt. Elbrus in Europe, Mt. McKinley in North America, Aconcagua in South America, Mt. Vinson in Antarctica and Carstensz Pyramid in Australasia.
Ania's dream is to raise $125K to build a Peace School with the Sarswati Foundation in Nepal. The school will also commemorate the world-wide recognized achievements of two great Polish mountaineers Wanda Rutkiewicz and Jerzy Kukuczka. It will provide education for the children and will bring together the community, which has been traumatized by 10 years of civil war. The dream is propagating universal good cause.
In 1978 WANDA RUTKIEWICZ was the first Polish and European woman to reach the Mt Everest Summit.
In 1980 JERZY KUKUCZKA the greatest Polish mountaineer of all times opened a new South Pillar route to Mt Everest Summit.
Izabela Spero and Julia Bell, going with Ania to Everest Base Camp, are also helping to raise funds for the Peace School.
SARSWATI FOUNDATION has been granted a license from the Government of Nepal to build a new school which will be opened in 2011. The funds of $125K will cover the purchase of land, two buildings, school equipment, books and 2 years of running costs. The land will be bought in March 2010 from current collections.
Any donation counts.
